Refresher Course: Language & Methodology
About ITTC
International Teaching and Training Centre was founded in 1984 and ITTC, as it is often known, is now one of the largest private teacher training centres in the UK. In 2001 ITTC became a division of BEET Language Centre in Bournemouth, and the backing of such a successful language centre has allowed ITTC to expand the range of courses offered. Since 1984 the Centre has trained around 5000 teachers - more than 300 a year - from all over the world, many of whom have been awarded the prestigious Cambridge CELTA or DELTA teaching qualifications.
ITTC has undertaken training programmes for overseas governments including Spain, Slovenia and the Czech Republic and for language schools in countries including South Korea, Poland, Spain and Italy.
ITTC’s team of teacher trainers are among the most experienced working in English language training today and many hold positions of responsibility as examiners and assessors with the University of Cambridge Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
ITTC is located in Bournemouth, a town of outstanding beauty on the south coast of England and within easy reach of London and other cities of historical interest including Oxford and Bath. Bournemouth is second only to London in importance as a centre for English language teaching in the UK and ITTC is responsible for organising the in-service training of the teachers who work in the many local language schools in the town.
ITTC has first-class study facilities including two computer rooms. The teacher training library is one of the most complete specialist English language teaching libraries in England. In addition to training teachers, BEET Language Centre is also an extremely successful English language school and welcomes students from all over the world on its language courses throughout the year.
BEET is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English as a foreign language, is a member of the Association of Recognised English Language Services (ARELS) and is also involved in the local English language schools association (RALSA). BEET / ITTC is validated as a centre for its English language teaching qualifications by the University of Cambridge.

About the course participants
The Language and Methodology Course offers teachers the possibility of developing their insight into language teaching methodology and at the same time improving their command of English. The courses are intended for non-native speakers of English who have experience of teaching English as a foreign language or who have gained a teaching qualification in their own country and are considering a career in English language teaching. Participants should have a command of English at least equivalent to that required to pass the Cambridge First Certificate in English (B2: CEFR). The courses bring together teachers from many different countries and this opportunity for participants to share ideas and experiences with each other has proved a very popular feature of training at ITTC.
