Social & Cultural Programme
BEET offers a very comprehensive programme of evening activities and Saturday excursions, typically:-
Two lectures a week on British culture, for example history and institutions, literature, poetry, pop and folk songs, social life, sport and politics. One evening a week of video films. One evening a week of various events, for example, quizzes, music, social evenings, Scottish dancing.
We also hold regular Sing-Songs of traditional and more modern songs in English. A favourite part is the "International Section", where you can contribute a song from your own country.
The most popular evening activity is the BEET Revue, an evening of comic sketches and music performed by the staff.
At Christmas, we put on a Pantomime (not the same as mime), a family show of comedy and music based on popular folk tales such as Cinderella or Robin Hood.
Excursions: There are regular Saturday excursions accompanied by staff to places like London, Bath, Oxford, Salisbury and Stonehenge.
Sport: Bournemouth is a major sporting venue where you can enjoy activities such as boating, water-skiing, windsurfing, parascending, fishing, swimming, sailing and diving. There are also several sports centres. Volleyball and 5-a-side football competitions are frequently held with other schools.
NOTE: Evening activities in the school are normally included in the cost of your course. Visits and excursions are at additional but low cost.
